



LUCAS DOLEGA AWARD
2nd EDITION – SEPT. 15th – NOV. 15th 2012

The Lucas Dolega Award is intended for freelance professional photographers. Its aim is to support and accompany them and their work, done in risky zones and under difficult conditions to ensure a free and independant information.
The award is meant to reward a photographer who, through his or her personal commitment, involvement in the field, as well as the quality of his or her work, will have been able to testify to his or her attachment to the freedom of information.
Participants will have to present a report on a conflict (civil or military wars, riots, attacks or public demonstrations…), a revolution, a natural or sanitary disaster, or their consequences on civil populations, or the coverage of any news relevant to the defence of freedoms and democracy.
Organized in partnership with the Mairie de Paris, Nikon, Polka Magazine and the support of Reporters without borders, the UPP, Freelens, the SAIF and the Atelier Label Images, the Lucas Dolega Award will reward a photographer with a endowment by Nikon of 10.000 Euros, an exhibition in Paris, and a publication in the Reporters without borders album. Furthermore, Polka Magazine will produce another story to the winner. The award ceremony will take place at the Mairie de Paris, on january 2013.
